Is it spring yet?

When the time changes, I am ready to declare spring is here. But winter is still with us although milder than before. We had a dusting of snow last night and the ski trails are still groomed and waiting. Temperatures have been hovering around freezing.
Ice fishing is over for the year and ice houses are off the lake now. Folks are making summer vacation plans for canoe trips and cabins.

The first spring event on the Gunflint Trail is the Green Up on May 2 - 4. This is an excellent family event and the perfect time to get out to the woods and welcome spring in a special way. You can get more details on http://www.gunflintgreenup.com/. We have 75,000 red and white pines to plant!

Remember, if you can come to register on the Green Up website so we have the right amount of equipment. If you cannot come but would like to make a donation to the effort, you can also do that on the web site http://www.gunflintgreenup.com/.
