No significant changes on the fire situation. The forest service and fire fighting crews are working on preventative measures between Gunflint Lake and Loon Lake. We continue to be uneffected by any fire or smoke.
All BWCA entry points remain closed.
The Gunflint Trail remains open to a short distance past Poplar Lake.

Just wanted to know that we've been praying for you and for Clearwater. I've been holding my breath ever since the fire started because my heart lives at Clearwater and the BWCA. I was also concerned for your safety, let alone the whole resort and all the work you've done getting it into such beautiful shape these last few years.
Last night my husband and I were at Orchestra Hall listening to a fabulous symphony by Berlioz--and it sounded like the lakes and woods of the Gunflint Trail. It built to these booming crescendos that made me think of the sound of the fire approaching and then there were these very fast little sounds from the violins that sounded like the animals running for their lives. I cried for them last night and as I listened to the symphony I spent the whole time praying for Clearwater and the woods and lakes of God's beautiful creation that surround you.
