Where's the Moose?

At the lodge, we still see plenty of moose and calves but it took less than 20 years for the moose population in the Northwestern to decline from over 4,000 to fewer than 100. The reasons for the decline of the moose in the western part of the state is not known.

A study is being conducted by the University of Minnesota that will help to answer that question "Moose Population Dynamics Studay in NE Minnesota".

What can you do?

Report moose sightings, (dead or alive) on the moose project website at http://www.nrri.umn.edu/moose. Or report them to us and we will go to the website.
