The USFS Archaeologist Lee Johnson came to speak last week as part of our Becoming A Boundary Waters Family program. He brought artifacts and talked about how people came to live in this region from the ice age to now. It was very interesting. Did you know many of the camp sites in the BWCA are also archaeological sites and some are still being excavated? The campsites, which are natural places for us to camp were also the logical places for the very first people in this area to establish campsites.
